This walk will introduce and discuss several institutions and locations that are significant to homeless persons in Ottawa. Where possible, the presentation will be given by homeless persons.
The Byward Market area is important to homeless people because two major organizations that care for them are located here. The walk will begin at The Shepherds of Good Hope. We will also pass by the Salvation Army, The Bridge, and several other places that are important to the care and experience of Homeless People in our city. Along the way we will hear from street artist Stewart Poulin and see some of his work, and we will end up at the pedestrian underpass at the Terry Fox Bridge, which also has a special significance.
