The Kilborn Allotment Gardens are Ottawa's largest community garden. Bounded by Kilborn, Pleasant Park, Haig and Delmar, the KAG is also home to a north-south bike path that runs from Conroy and Walkley through to the General Hospital. It therefore combines the functions of active transportation route with urban farming. The Kilborn Allotment gardeners represent every continent and every major language on the globe. As interest in urban farming has grown since the outset of the pandemic, the level of cooperation between gardeners has grown, resulting for example in an equipment and plant exchange depot, and communal compost piles. The walk is accessible from bus routes #48 and#49 and we recommend footwear suitable for wet or uneven ground.
