We've been seeing more and more news items talking about what people are doing to build community in Ottawa and elsewhere.  Here are some from web and traditional sources.   Let's spread these ideas so neighbourhoods everywhere can benefit.  We'll add to these as new items come to our attention.

June 3, 2017.   Our friends at Synapcity (formerly Citizens' Academy) instigated a day of neighbourhood activities or 'interventions' called 100in1day.  This event has been taking place in other cities following its founding in Bogota several years ago.  The event invites groups, neighbours and individuals to offer an activity, display, or other kind of event that would improve community in their neighbourhood.  Although it was the first such day held in Ottawa, the event attracted more than 100 participating activities.  You can see the whole list here.  Congratulations to Synapcity and to all the participants for making Ottawa more interesting!    Description.    List of interventions 2017.   Website.
