In both English and French, we will tour participants around our new Veggie Collective community farm and the existing Community Garden at Moore Farm. Participants will learn about the two types of urban gardening models and see the gardens coming to life for Spring. We will see perennial herbs and bushes popping up and a recently established community orchard. We will show the various types of irrigation systems in use, including a solar powered solution. We welcome questions about organic and low-till gardening practices that we are planning for the site

Moore Farm is located at 650 Tache Blvd. Follow the drive to the buildings and come around to the north side. We'll meet outside in front of the big white farmhouse, near the front door. From there, we'll walk north along the recreational path, east into the allotment gardens, and back.


The path is flat but gravel, and we will be walking on uneven surfaces through the gardens. The walk is all away from traffic in a green space.

If you are driving, enter from Tache Blvd. There is parking along the circle drive on the north side of the house and barn.

About the walk leader
Emily is passionate about community building and tangible environmental solutions. She has worked on organic farms and in outdoor education for years. She was also one of the coordinators of the community farm at Beetbox Farm. Emily is happiest when she is outdoors, contributing to useful projects, and getting her hands dirty!
